We at Westbury Friends hope that it will provide you with insight as to what we do in Friends schools and why it makes us a wonderful choice for many families on Long Island. And please keep in mind as you read that you do not have to be a Quaker to send your child to a Friends School!

Clearly there was a guiding light that allowed the founders of Westbury Friends School to imagine all that could be when they aspired to the monumental goal of establishing a Friends School in 1954 and bringing it to fruition in 1957. For the past 52 years Westbury Friends School has served the students and the community in an extraordinary manner. As we strive to move WFS forward into the future let us reflect on the foundation laid by those who came before us to yield such positive results in the best interest of the children, the community, and Friends education.

By keeping the children of Westbury Friends School central to our focus and setting attainable goals for all aspects of growth and development of Westbury Friends School, continued success is inevitable. With ongoing hard work, dedication and commitment on the part of the entire community, I believe wholeheartedly that what was stated in the 50th Anniversary Journal as quoted from Noel Palmer's book Westbury Friends School, the First Forty Years holds true for this moment in time: "Today it has even greater potential and in its many tomorrows, its strength shall increase as it goes forward."

Our faculty is excited about teaching and brings enthusiasm to the classroom. Our parents are loyal and dedicated to the school and are an active part of their child's educational experience. The Meeting joyfully aligns itself with the school and reminds us each day by process and example of the underpinnings of Friends education. Our students love coming to school and are honored and celebrated for their individual personalities and learning styles. The Board understands fully the elements of a high quality school and strives to provide for excellence to occur each day. All the constituencies of WFS are dedicated to a supportive, challenging and creative learning environment for every child and succeed at establishing a fully cooperative relationship with one another.
