Westbury Friends School is located on 15 acres in Westbury, New York. The grounds are also shared by the Westbury Monthly Meeting, established in 1671. These historic grounds, once a stop on the Underground Railroad, are home to many classic Quaker structures. The present Meeting House was built in 1902 and is registered as a Historic Landmark with the Nassau County Historical Society.
The combination of history and nature brings a calm and peaceful quality to the campus. It also provides the students the ability to explore nature and delve into history in a tranquil secure setting. The grounds are considered an extension of the classroom, providing places for quiet time, writing, reading, drawing and meditation. Our spacious area includes playgrounds and sports fields, nine classrooms, a gymnasium, and an art studio located in the Orthodox Building, built in 1830. We also have a music room, library media center and a main room for meals and school events. In addition, by providing local wildlife a home and shelter, we have been designated a National Wildlife Federation Schoolyard Habitat Site.
