Annual Appeal |
 |
|
The Woodedge Fund was established in
2001 to provide special project funding for Westbury friends school through
its annual appeal. The fund name - evoking the log history of Quaker
presence on the school's beautiful site - goes back to the time when woods
bordered Hempstead Plains and the grounds of the first Westbury Meeting
House, in a community called Woodedge. Quakers first gathered here for
worship in 1702, two decades after the founding of Westbury Monthly Meeting
in 1671. Membership in the Woodedge Fund is offered to all who give a
gift of $1000 or more to the Westbury Friends School Annual Appeal. |
