With computers in classrooms and the Library Media Center, the Computer Technology program provides specific instruction to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Through the librarian and classroom teachers, the computer is used as a tool for immediate learning and communication strategies, with software that supports the classroom curriculum while igniting students’ curiosity and creativity. Projects in engineering, science, design, and problem solving help students develop proficiency in choosing and using appropriate technology. Depending on the age and the subject, these computer activities range from one student researching independently to a class exploring topics together. Students learn to use digital technology as a vehicle to deepen their knowledge, integrate studies based on thematic or topical subjects, and heighten their clarity and orderliness of presentation. |
