The Westbury Friends School Library
Media Center is a peaceful place designed to provide materials and work
areas for a high tech, high touch informational program. The library
curriculum introduces young students to the joy of reading and celebrates
reading as a lifelong pursuit. Literature genres, author studies, thematic
units and research.
Projects allow students to explore
the library collection and multimedia holdings LMC faculty coordinate
team-teaching efforts which create individual and class projects with an
unusual depth of understanding of the topic. The computer technology
program focuses on software that supports the classroom curriculum while
igniting students’ curiosity and creativity. Projects in
engineering, science, design, and
problem solving help students develop proficiency in choosing and using
appropriate technology.
