I received a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a major in painting at Hofstra University, and I began my career in education teaching middle school and high school art. After moving to an early childhood center for several years, I designed, wrote and implemented a comprehensive curriculum for that age level, while also obtaining a Masters in art education, again at Hofstra.
In 2004 I arrived at Westbury Friends School and I fully enjoy the opportunity to be "free and creative" in my apporach to teaching art to Nursery through Fifth Grade students.
Being involved in a craft club for Kindergarten through Second Grade, as part of the Extended Day Program brings me great joy, as does working with third, fourth and fifth graders on their art portfolios during the school year.
As an artist beyond the world of education at Westbury Friends School, I continue to focus on drawing and painting during my leisure hours. Tennis and golf also hold great interest for me as two favorite ways to spend free time with family and friends.
