Kara Martone
Library Teacher
Reading and working with children have always been passions of mine. After graduating from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor’s degree in History, I decided to go back to school to pursue a degree that combines my two passions. I received my Master’s in Library and Information Science, with a concentration in School Media, from CW Post in May 2009. I am very excited to begin my career as a school librarian here at Westbury Friends School.
I have been happily married to my husband, Nate, for a little over a year. We currently reside in East Patchogue with our dog, Hope. When I am not teaching, I love to read, take walks, play softball, and spend time with my family. I also enjoy teaching Sunday School and assisting in the nursery at my church. I am a big sports fan, and my husband and I are currently on a quest to visit every Major League Baseball stadium. During the summer, I work as a Senior Staff member at Brookhaven Roe YMCA Day Camp.
