How do we see? We need LIGHT and EYES.

We began our study of light with the question "How much light can pass through different objects?" We learned the words transparent, transluscent and opaque.

 

First we predicted and recorded our ideas. Then we used flashlights to find out. First, glass. Careful!

Will the light pass through  my hand? I think I saw someone do this on Halloween!

How much light will pass through this waxed paper?

 

What about this scarf?

Test out the cardboard and the aluminum foil.  Aha! I thought so!

 

Scientists always record their results and compare them to their predictions. Hopefully, they are surprised, and get to learn something new!
