Westbury Friends School is a New York State Association of Independent Schools accredited, culturally diverse Friends school for all children in grades nursery through six, located at Post Avenue and Jericho Turnpike, Westbury. Westbury Friends (WFS) has grown tremendously over the last decade while remaining small enough to ensure that each child is known to every staff member. At this fully accredited, culturally diverse Quaker school with a faculty: student ratio of less than 1:8, up to 170 students in nursery through 6th grade are offered an enriched academic curriculum taught by a highly qualified staff, including certified teachers. The school has recently completed a series of campaigns to build new classrooms and a Library Media Center with the latest research capabilities. WFS has skilled full-time staffing in technology, music, art, physical education, and Spanish. The curriculum includes hands-on science-environmental, literature-based language arts and grades-wide mathematics programs that allow children to advance at their own pace. Enrichment staff work closely with classroom teachers to further each child’s learning and personal growth. Situated on 17 acres of beautiful, historic countryside, WFS provides spacious surroundings. All students are offered an Extended Day Program from 7-8:30am and 3-6pm. To arrange a visit please call Director Ida Edelman. WFS looks forward to greeting you!
