There are many traditions here at
Westbury Friends school. One of the loveliest and most exciting is the
holiday concert. We celebrate our diversity through song and every
December, we make our way to Friends Academy where a performance of such
beauty takes place. Mrs. Iannacchino, our music teacher, and the
children sing of love and peace around the world taking into account all of
the backgrounds of all our children.
In celebration of diversity at
school, we welcome new parents with an International Feast. We share foods
from around the world as all parents bring into the school, foods that represent
their heritage.
Another wonderful tradition here at
Westbury friends School is our Thanksgiving Feast. at Thanksgiving
time, the school gets together to collect canned goods for Island Harvest,
then the parents, children and staff get together to give thanks for all we
have by holding a traditional Thanksgiving celebration.
